Microsoft is developing an update for Teams that allows users to see live subtitles in seven new languages.
The English-language version of the feature was added to the platform in 2018 and provides a transcription of meetings in real time to help attendees track conversations. According to Microsoft’s product roadmap, the option will be expanded to include German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and Dutch by July 2021.
Live subtitles are designed to improve teams virtual meeting experience for both native and non-native speakers and improve accessibility, for example, for the hard of hearing.
