Microsoft Teams meetings

Microsoft Teams meetings will soon support up to 1,000 chat participants.

Inhoudsopgave

Microsoft is expanding the existing limit for Team meeting chats from 300 to 1,000 this month (via Neowin). The feature is listed in the roadmap as being in development and is expected to be rolled out to all users later this month.

With this change, the company is preparing to launch a host of new capabilities for Microsoft Teams that will come with the Advanced Communication license in January 2021. At launch, the license allows users to host up to 50 events at once and each live event for up to 16 hours. In addition, Microsoft Teams users can hold interactive meetings with up to 1,000 attendees.

If the increased chat participant limit is immediately available to all users, Microsoft plans to offer the rest of the features as part of the Microsoft Advanced Communications Add-on for Teams. The license costs $12 per user per month and is available as a 60-day free trial, and you can read more about these changes here.

In case you missed it: Microsoft announced last week that the platform’s daily active users exceeded 115 million. Microsoft Teams is seeing increasing use during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and it’s good to see that Microsoft has focused on improving the meeting experience.
