This Microsoft Teams update will help you make an impact in your next meeting
The new Microsoft Teams feature helps you give the best presentation possible.
Microsoft is preparing an update to the Teams collaboration platform to help users maximize the impact of their presentations.
As explained in a new entry in the Microsoft 365 product roadmap, Microsoft Teams users will soon take advantage of new presenter mode controls that allow customization and movement of the video feed.
“Presenter mode video controls allow presenters to move and resize the presenter’s video feed and automatically resize the content accordingly. This can be applied to all modes, including standout, side-by-side, and reporter,” the company explained. .

The Teams Presenter Mode update is currently in development, but should go live for all users by the end of April.
Microsoft first rolled out presenter mode last year in an effort to give Teams users a way to tailor their presentation style to the occasion. For example, eye-catching mode puts the presenter’s video feed before the slideshow, while reporter mode puts content above the person’s shoulder in the style of a newscast.
At the time, Microsoft said the new presentation features were designed to “help presenters deliver content more professionally and deliver dynamic experiences to meeting participants.”
With the latest update, the company offers an extra layer of flexibility with the option to resize the video feed to suit the specific content being presented. In this way, Microsoft Teams users can ensure that vital information is not obscured by their video.
The feature complements additional features recently announced by Microsoft that allow users to rehearse their presentations in advance and record these practice sessions for fine-tuning.
The company also unveiled a variety of hybrid work-focused updates designed to ensure meetings remain fair with employees split between home and office.
“Whether it’s creating more engaging meeting experiences, enabling collaboration with external partners, or providing the flexibility to work where, when, and how you want, these new features meet the new expectations people have for the workplace,” wrote Nicole Kerskowitz, VP Microsoft Teams.
“While so much has changed in work, one thing remains constant: people are at the center of things. With technologies like Microsoft Teams that empower people, we can really make hybrid work work by bringing everyone — and everything — together.”
