Teams app saw 5 billion meeting minutes in one day!

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said Teams users generated more than 5 billion meeting minutes in one day this quarter and that more than 150 million students and teachers now rely on tools like Teams, Stream, OneNote, and Flipgrid to prioritize student engagement and learning outcomes.

Increased usage intensity across the platform

Nadella said the company sees increased usage intensity across the platform as people communicate, collaborate, and write content in Teams.

“Sixty-nine organizations now have more than 100,000 Teams users, and more than 1,800 organizations have more than 10,000 Teams users,” Nadella said wednesday during the company’s earnings call.

He said Microsoft is working with teachers as they prepare for external hybrid and personal scenarios this fall.

“Our new Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare helps providers plan, manage, and perform virtual visits with Teams and engage patients with Dynamics 365,” he said.

Microsoft Teams helps people be together even when they’re not together.

“We’re rediscovering every aspect of the meeting experience with new capabilities like Together Mode and Dynamic Stage to help people feel more connected and reduce cognitive load,” says Nadella.

Microsoft has expanded gallery view in Teams

Microsoft has expanded gallery view in Teams so people can see and communicate with up to 49 attendees at once, and brainstorming spaces and live responses will help people build social capital in a virtual world.

“Teams quickly become the backbone of communication as customers accelerate their voice to the cloud. “And we’re expanding Teams outside the workplace, making it easy to add personal Teams accounts on mobile devices so you can stay in touch with friends and family like and your life at work,” Nadella said.

New exciting features announced in the Teams app

Microsoft has announced new exciting features in its Teams video conferencing app, including a Together mode that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to digitally place participants in a shared background, as if they were in the same room with everyone else in the meeting or classroom.

The Together mouds is widely available in August.
