Microsoft Whiteboard Receives Loop feature on Microsoft 365

Microsoft Whiteboard on Teams, web and Windows gets the Loop Components feature launched in Teams this year.

On the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the company describes new features it will bring to the Microsoft Whiteboard on various platforms. Currently known as Feature 98161, it comes to Whiteboard in Microsoft Teams, Whiteboard for Windows and Whiteboard for the Web. So, what is it this function?

Well, 98161 allows users to copy and paste live Loop components into the Microsoft Whiteboard application from other Microsoft 365 apps.

This is similar to the Loop Component already available in Microsoft Teams Chat. It allows users to plan and create wherever they are. It is the latest addition to microsoft’s push to be a leader in hybrid work solutions.

How it works

Users can use components such as lists and tables and share them with anyone to perform operations (with permission):

“Users can copy/paste, view and edit live Loop components in Whiteboard. This functionality is managed by the Loop policy Create and display in Microsoft apps that support Loop OCPS policy, which applies to all Microsoft apps that support Loop components.

Microsoft plans to ship the Loop feature to Whiteboard in early December, albeit in preview. A general release will come by the end of the same month.

Whiteboard integrates with Microsoft Office’s ink capabilities to bring content to a screen that can be used by multiple users on different devices. The service works locally or online with mouse, keyboard, pen and touch.
