Microsoft Teams offers live captioning in seven new languages
Microsoft is developing an update for Teams that will allow users to see live captions in seven new languages.
The English-language version of the feature was added to the platform in 2018 and provides real-time transcription of meetings to help participants monitor conversations. According to the Microsoft product roadmap the capability will be expanded to include German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and Dutch by July 2021.
Live captioning is designed to enhance the Teams virtual meeting experience for both native and non-native speakers and improve accessibility, such as for the hearing impaired.
