LinkedIn integration coming to Microsoft Teams

Message Summary

For those tenants who have LinkedIn integration available to their members, Microsoft is extending its availability to Teams as a panel in one-on-one conversations. This is the first part of a series of updates that will also bring LinkedIn to the business card in the coming months. Initially this will be limited to contacts within the tenant, but as the contact card updates are released it will be available to all contacts within and outside the tenant.

When this will happen:

Microsoft will start rolling this out in mid-March and expect to be ready by early April.

How this affects your organization:

Once available, the new LinkedIn tab will appear at the top of the 1:1 conversation in Teams next to the existing Chat, Files, Organization, and Activity tabs, and will work just like the contact card in Outlook today.

You still have the same controls as before about the availability of the integration. This just makes the experience available in more places for your members.

What to do to prepare:

Check your current configuration to ensure the right experience for your organization.
