“What do you see as the biggest risk when using AI on a work device?”

The results:

• ???? Sharing sensitive info – 38%

• ???? No policy or agreements – 25%

• ???? Tools without IT’s knowledge – 25%

• ???? No visibility into AI tools – 13%

Striking, but not surprising: most concerns are about information security and lack of control. And rightly so.

 

???? Shadow IT is back – and it’s now called AI

Many AI tools work through browser extensions or plugins. Convenient for the user, but invisible to IT. This creates risks such as:

• Unintentional data breaches

• Compliance issues (think AVG / ISO)

• Unsafe work habits no one notices
