???? AI in the workplace: smart or risky?
More and more colleagues are discovering useful AI tools such as ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Grammarly or DALL-E. Super smart of course … but also a bit exciting.
Because what if:
-
someone accidentally pastes customer data into a free tool?
-
sensitive info turns up in someone’s private Dropbox via an #AI plugin?
???? The risks of AI on work devices
We asked our LinkedIn followers¹:
“What do you see as the biggest risk when using AI on a work device?”
The results:
-
???? Sharing sensitive info – 38%
-
???? No policy or agreements – 25%
-
???? Tools without IT’s knowledge – 25%
-
???? No visibility into AI tools – 13%
Striking, but not surprising: most concerns are about information security and lack of control. And rightly so.
???? Shadow IT is back – and it’s now called AI
Many AI tools work through browser extensions or plugins. Convenient for the user, but invisible to IT. This creates risks such as:
-
Unintentional data breaches
-
Compliance issues (think AVG / ISO)
-
Unsafe work habits no one notices
????️ Modern workplace = working safely with AI
At ALTA-ICT B.V. we help SMEs to get a grip on the use of AI in the workplace.
So that smart tools are really used safely and responsibly.
???? Consider:
-
Clear agreements on use of AI
-
Insight into what tools are being used
-
Training and awareness
-
Integration with Microsoft 365 and policies
???? What’s the situation with you guys?
Are AI tools already being used in your workplaces?
And are there agreements about that?
????A little sparring?
