With Microsoft Teams, you can finally block the video of all attendees

Microsoft finally listened to feedback from meeting organizers who wanted an easy way to turn off the video of all meeting participants. In a new forum post, the company confirmed that organizers will soon be able to quickly prevent visitors from turning on their camera when they’re meant to focus on the presentation.

“We are excited to announce that we will soon release the ability to disable all visitor videos, and the ability to disable a single participant video,” Microsoft Teams technician Alex wrote in a forum post noted by us.

To be clear, there are two new features. With one, you can turn one participant’s video on/off, and with the other, you can turn all attendees’ video on/off. These new meeting controls are particularly useful when attendees accidentally turn on their camera, which isn’t great, especially when someone’s video feed is distracting.

According to the roadmap, users will be able to turn off people’s video feed in Teams meetings by the end of this month.

Microsoft has also confirmed that this feature will be available for Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
