Microsoft Teams releases a new live event restart feature

Microsoft plans to add support for restarting Live Events in Teams. The feature was recently added to the Microsoft 365 roadmap and will be available to both desktop and web clients.

Currently, producers can’t stop and restart the live event later, and they need to plan a new event for visitors. The new feature will allow producers or presenters to restart their live event after they encounter a problem or accidentally terminate it. As mentioned on the Microsoft 365 roadmap, the capability is expected to be rolled out in June of this year.

In addition, Microsoft also adds the ability to opt out of the multi-window producer experience for Live Events. The software giant last month announced multi-window support for managing Teams Live events. However, it does not provide access to the Call Health Panel for the time being, and this issue can be particularly frustrating for some users.

The company recommends office 365 administrators restore their tenants to the single view experience until the Call Health Panel is available by the end of June. “If you want to continue with the current Multi-Window Producer experience, you don’t have to do anything.

The feature is listed as being in development, with an expected release date in July 2021.
