Microsoft renames Microsoft 365 to Microsoft 365 Copilot
Microsoft has made a notable change: the name Microsoft 365 has now been replaced by Microsoft 365 Copilot. This rebranding applies to all Windows 11 users and is a logical step in the integration of AI into office applications. Below you can read all the details about this update and what this means for users! 👇
🔄 What has changed?
- New name and logo
The Microsoft 365 app and website have been renamed Microsoft 365 Copilot. The logo now has a fresh design with a Copilot icon and the label M365¹. 🎨 - Universal domain name
The familiar urlsoffice.com

² now point to m365.cloud.microsoft, a step toward a more cohesive platform³.
🤖 Why this renaming?
The new name reflects Microsoft’s focus on AI and automation:
- Copilot features in all 365 apps
The AI assistant Copilot was previously rolled out for business users and is now available for personal subscriptions. 💡 - AI at the core of productivity
Microsoft is emphasizing with the name Copilot that artificial intelligence has a permanent place in their apps, from Word to Excel to Teams.
💸 Price increase
With this change, Microsoft also increased the price of personal subscriptions by €3 per month. With this, the company is pushing for more value through advanced AI tools, but users will have to consider this additional cost.
🌐 What does this mean to you?
As a user of Microsoft 365, you can expect the following:
- Intuitive assistance: Copilot helps you with tasks such as summarizing documents, automating repetitive actions and even brainstorming. ✍️
- Access to new features: AI features are regularly enhanced to increase your productivity.
- Seamless integration: Thanks to the universal domain name, the experience within apps is more consistent.
🏢 For business users
For enterprise customers, the term 365 Copilot had been familiar for some time. This change reinforces the message that AI is an integral part of Microsoft’s ecosystem.
Conclusion 🎯
Microsoft is taking a clear step toward an AI-driven future with this rebranding. Whether you are a business or personal user, the Copilot features offer tools to work smarter and more efficiently. While the price increase may not be ideal, the new features could be well worth it.
