Microsoft launches Copilot in Microsoft Viva and Viva Glint
Microsoft recently announced that it will add AI Copilot to its Viva platform, following the introduction of Microsoft 365 Copilot last month. Copilot’s goal is to improve employee engagement and performance to achieve better business results. Viva is an employee experience platform that combines goals, employee communication, learning, workplace analytics and feedback. Built on the Microsoft 365 Copilot System, Copilot in Viva uses next-generation AI to accelerate this new performance equation.
With Copilot, leaders can understand and engage their staff by providing suggestions for goal setting and key outcomes. This simplifies goal setting and saves employees time by summarizing the status of goals, identifying blockers and suggesting next steps. Copilot also offers leaders suggestions for creating engaging and inspiring messages and analyzing engagement statistics. Staff can use Copilot in Viva Learning to get curated learning collections and concise knowledge summaries tailored to specific roles or development needs.
Microsoft is also introducing the new Viva Glint, a survey tool to measure and improve employee engagement. Viva Glint will formally join the Viva Suite in July 2023. Thousands of employee comments will be summarized and analyzed to offer leaders a new way to explore feedback by asking questions in natural language. Viva Glint will also help leaders accelerate and deepen organizational insight by bringing together aggregated employee engagement data combined with behavioral and collaboration data from Viva Insights and the Microsoft Graph.
Kirk Koenigsbauer, corporate vice president for Microsoft 365, emphasized the importance of productivity and employee engagement. “Our latest research shows that the most successful organizations are those that prioritize both productivity and employee engagement. Companies with an engaged workforce performed twice as well financially compared to those with an uninvolved workforce,” he said.
Copilot in Viva is built on Microsoft’s comprehensive approach to Responsible AI. It automatically adopts your organization’s security, compliance and privacy policies for Microsoft 365, so you know it’s enterprise-ready. Microsoft’s work is guided by decades of research on AI, grounding and privacy-protecting machine learning, as well as their Responsible AI standard and a core set of AI principles, such as honesty, reliability and safety, privacy and security, inclusivity, transparency and accountability. This means that Copilot in Viva is not only effective, but also used safely and responsibly.
In today’s rapidly changing business world, productivity is often seen as the key to improving a company’s performance. But it is important to remember that productivity alone is not enough to achieve sustainable success. It is the combination of productivity and employee engagement that produces the best results.
With Copilot in Viva, leaders can better understand what their employees need and how best to engage them at work. The platform provides leaders with the tools to help employees set goals, get training and receive feedback. All of this contributes to a better employee experience, which in turn leads to better business results.
Viva Glint is a valuable addition to the platform because it offers leaders an easy way to measure and improve employee engagement. Gathering feedback and understanding employees’ feelings and needs is crucial to creating a work environment in which everyone can thrive.
In short, Microsoft remains at the forefront of developing AI technologies, and Viva is the latest evidence of their commitment to helping companies improve performance and optimize their employee experience. With the addition of Copilot and Viva Glint to the Viva platform, leaders now have the tools they need to improve employee engagement and performance to drive better business results.
