Microsoft has just rolled out its PowerPoint Live in Microsoft Teams, its video conferencing and chat software, and now wants to explain to its 115 million users how to actually use it to improve presentations. At last month’s Microsoft Ignite conference, the company unveiled PowerPoint Live, Microsoft’s version of classic PowerPoint for a world where Teams is the platform for remote meetings. PowerPoint Live eliminates the need for Teams users to open a PowerPoint deck and share their PC’s screen with an audience. Instead, the Presenter can simply open PowerPoint Live in Teams to give a presentation.

If this sounds like a useful feature for your workflow, you’re in luck; Microsoft has released the conversion tool as of today. Microsoft has posted all the juicy details on the Tech Community website. The news was no surprise, as Microsoft has alluded to this feature in the past. However, it is now available for public use. There is a small catch; you cannot use the feature yet in the software version of Word. Microsoft’s embedded reader will be rolled out to more of the company’s apps later this year. In the coming months, PowerPoint and OneDrive will receive support for embedded reader. In addition, students can now enable embed reader in OneNote Forms. Microsoft outlines support for embedded readers in a new post. October is Dyslexia Awareness Month and October 2020 is also the 75th anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Immersive Reader was originally created to help people with dyslexia, although the program has evolved to help in other areas as well. Embedded reader allows you to customize the look of text. You can try the tool on Microsoft Edge to see the options it offers. It can highlight and label speech sharing, change the size and theme of text, focus on specific rules, and has several other ways to make reading easier.
The Office 365 bundle includes six apps: Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, and Word, each of which can also be downloaded separately.
